As one of Melbourne's long-serving alternative favourites, Kanvas Grey has proven that Australia's musical capital holds much promise for unsigned go-getters on a world scale.

Three albums plus miscellaneous singles and EPs, tours locally, nationally and internationally, interest from media near and far...  something is definitely working for this trio of self-proclaimed non-conformists.
Says KG frontman Ben: “We make this music because it's who we are, not who we want to be. That's very important to us.”

This philosophy, consistent from t=0, has facilitated a soundscape of growth of the band.  When listened to in sequence, the recordings reveal the journey over time, cataloguing love and loss, political events, life turning points and the rollercoaster that is human emotion.

New Album

Self titled, Kanvas Grey's new album is the band's proudest production yet, featuring a higher level of energy precipitating from rocking tunes and some of the most dynamic solos yet.

Bassist Justin remarks “We've reached a stage where we have established ourselves as a collective, rather than individuals.  We played together so comfortably on this album, which really reflects our live performance.  It's like reaching some higher level of being, but instead of levitating or something we just decided to self-title the album.”

All tracks are available for free download from this site, or from most online music stores.

Tours

In 2006 England and Wales were treated to the KG sound, experiencing 25 shows in 5 weeks, hosted in some of the finest venues including Liverpool's Cavern Club, famous for birthing The Beatles, and the Rock Garden in Covent Garden, the first London boards to be tread by musical legends U2.

The music was so warmly received that the band was invited back to perform at many venues and events including music festivals such as Reading, In The City (Manchester) and Isle of Wight.

2008 awaits a US tour in February to capitalise on exposure provided by Project MyWorld, which is like a travel show for the internet age, hosted by cable network DirecTV who boasts a subscribership of over 45 million.
